Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce Announces
2024-2025 Leadership Georgetown County Class
Program prepares for and promotes community leadership
Pawleys Island, SC – The Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the participants selected for its 32nd Leadership Georgetown County class.
Annually, the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce selects chamber member and non-chamber member leaders, through an application-based process, to participate in this unique 9-month experience that grants class members access to Georgetown County business and government leaders and significant sites throughout the county. The fee-based program also offers the opportunity for hands-on experiences throughout Georgetown County communities. Leadership Georgetown County unites diverse leaders in order to increase understanding of countywide issues and improve participants’ ability to lead effectively.
The Leadership Georgetown County class of 2024-2025 is comprised of 20 leaders representing a wide range of community businesses:

The Leadership Georgetown County class will participate in an overnight opening retreat September 10-12, 2024, at Wampee Conference Center in Pinopolis, South Carolina, where they will engage in leadership skills training. Going forward, the class will meet once per month, October 2024 through May 2025, for a full day to explore and examine the historic, social, economic, and political pieces that make up Georgetown County. Each curriculum day provides in-depth study of specific topics including History, Local Government, Nonprofits, Health Care, Education, State Government, Industry and the Economy, and Tourism and Natural Resources. An overnight trip to Columbia, South Carolina is planned to observe and meet with state government leaders. This year’s Leadership Georgetown County class kicked off with a program orientation on Wednesday, August 1 and will commence with a graduation ceremony in May, 2025.
