    News for Immediate Release:

Tidelands Health hospitals earn ‘high performing’ ratings from U.S. News & World Report
Tidelands Health hospitals have earned recognition as “high performing” by U.S. News & World Report.
Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet and Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital were named in U.S. News’ 2024-2025 Best Hospitals report as “high performing” in specific procedures and the treatment of certain conditions – the highest distinction a hospital can earn in the procedures and conditions ratings.
Tidelands Waccamaw earned “high performing” recognition in five areas of care and treatment: hip replacement, knee replacement, colon cancer surgery, heart failure and pneumonia. Tidelands Georgetown earned “high performing” recognition in the care and treatment of heart attacks.
An overall “high performing” rating indicates that Tidelands Waccamaw and Tidelands Georgetown were significantly better than the national average in those procedures and treatment of those conditions. Those ratings are based entirely on objective quality measures using data from millions of records provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
“Our team is honored to once again earn national recognition from U.S. News & World Report for the high-quality care we provide to our patients,” said Ashley Capps, vice president of operations and chief nursing officer.
The annual procedures and conditions ratings are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.
“Choosing the right hospital to match your needs shouldn’t be a guessing game,” said Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor of U.S. News. “The 2024-2025 edition of Best Hospitals provides patients and their families clear, data-driven insights on hospital performance and empowers Americans to choose the facility best suited to their specific health care needs.”
