Many of our plants are propagated in-house, so you are bringing a piece of Brookgreen Gardens home to your garden! The sale is orchestrated by on-site horticulture staff and volunteers who can help answer questions.

Francis Marion Interpretive Center Grand Opening
The Francis Marion Interpretive Center in Georgetown is hosting its grand opening! Join historian Carin Bloom as she sets the stage for the ribbon cutting of the Francis Marion Interpretive Center, making history come alive as she portrays Mrs. Catharine Greene, wife of General Nathanael Greene. The date was carefully selected to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolutionary War at the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Little did Mrs. Greene know then that her husband would eventually command the successful Southern Campaign and help turn the tide of the war for American independence right here in South Carolina, and at last, win the war with the help of another unknown General Francis Marion. You are guaranteed to become immersed in the world of the American Revolutionary War as witnessed and lived vicariously by Catharine Greene. Ribbon cutting to follow the performance. Colonial refreshments will be served in the interval between the two events.
Migratory Birds at the Swampside Tract at Black River Cypress Preserve
Participants will spend the morning walking through the long leaf pine savanna and along the hardwood swamps that make up more than half of the Black River Cypress Preserve in Andrews, SC - looking at birds, butterflies, and anything else that we can find. Be prepared to walk about 3 miles. Participants should bring binoculars, a refillable water bottle, snacks, and a camera if desired. Wear good, sturdy, closed-toe shoes for walking because miles will be covered.
Race for the Inlet - Bunny Run Edition
Join Murrells Inlet 2020 for the 18th Annual Race for the Inlet - Bunny Run Edition! The race will be a 5K Fun Run. Both runners and walkers of all ages are encouraged to participate. The Race for the Inlet is a family-friendly staple for the Inlet. Visitors and locals enjoy the scenery and comradery, all while supporting our local Community. Proceeds from the event benefit Murrells Inlet 2020, a community revitalization organization focused on the conservation of our natural environment while fostering local community and commerce. Registration is now open and includes entry into the race with a chipped bib, a swag bag full of goodies to the first 250 people from our sponsors, an official race t-shirt, and breakfast provided by Campbell Catering Company. An awards ceremony will follow the event at Morse Park. Awards will be awarded to the following groups: *Top 3 Over-All Male & Female *Top 3 Male & Female in each group
