Create a traditional sweetgrass basket with your own hands under the guidance of master basket maker Vera Manigault at the Gullah Museum in Georgetown! Gullah Geechee people have made sweetgrass baskets for centuries in a style that is identical to the coil baskets of West and Central Africa. Our sweetgrass baskets are vessels of memory, and Vera's family has created them for eight generations.
